Yorkshires Record Breaking Rollercoaster!
01st Jul 2009
One of North Yorkshire’s top tourist attractions is set to unveil a world’s first when a brand new rollercoaster takes centre stage.
Flamingo Land, located near our Malton hotels, will on Saturday open Mumbo Jumbo, a ride that will feature the most extreme drop in rollercoaster history.
The record-breaking rollercoaster plunges thrill-seekers down an incline of 112 degrees from a high point of 30 metres. This is the most extreme drop in rollercoaster history and representatives from the Guinness Book of Records will be at Flamingo Land on Saturday to register the ride in the “Steepest Rollercoaster Made from Steel” category.
Gordon Gibb, who is Flamingo Land boss, said:
“It’s not often we get a world first in Yorkshire, so it’s nice to have the edge. We can’t wait to get the public on and get their reaction, as that’s what counts. It’s absolutely all action!”
Visitors to the theme park at Saturday’s grand opening will be amongst the first to try out the all action rollercoaster, Mumbo Jumbo.
