‘Toolkit’ Training Day in Malton

Festival and event organisers in Malton and North Yorkshire are being offered expert help at a ‘Toolkit’ training day on Tuesday 2nd June.

The event at The Talbot Hotel in Malton is being organised by Scarborough arts development agency Create. The agency is holding a day of practical help and topics covered will include fundraising, press and public relations and how to evaluate a festival.

Wendy Clews, who is Create’s director, said:

“We want to offer people organising festivals and events in the Yorkshire area the practical help they need to ensure what they are staging is the most successful it can be.”

Pete Massey, who is from the Arts Council England Yorkshire, will start the day at the Malton hotel by offering his personal insight as an experienced festival organiser.

The training day at The Talbot Hotel is the first of a series of five “toolkit” days and special events to be held in North Yorkshire to aid festival organisers.
