Easter Craft & Produce Market at Castle Howard
02nd Apr 2009
Those visiting our Scarborough or Malton hotels next week may be interested to know that Castle Howard will be hosting an Easter Craft and Produce Market on Tuesday 7 April with free admission.
Julia Hutchinson, the organiser, says: “We have 21 stallholders who will be selling a range of handmade quality crafts and produce, many of which are perfect for Easter including decorated gingerbread biscuits from The Gingerbread House and Simnel Cake from Traditional & Scrumptious. There are also more unusual crafts such as willow weaving and hand-forged metalwork.”
The Easter Market is to be held at the Stable Courtyard from 10am to 4pm and will be the first of a series of Craft and Produce Markets taking place at the stately home on the second Tuesday of the month from May to October, ending with a Christmas Market in December.
The Stable Courtyard is also home to Castle Howard’s Farm Shop, Chocolate & Flower Shop, Carriage House, Bookshop and Plant Centre, where you can choose from further ranges of Easter goodies. These include spring lamb from the Howardian Hills and North York Moors at the Farm Shop, Easter decorations and gifts at the Carriage House and a range of delicious chocolate Easter Eggs at the Chocolate & Flower Shop.
Access to the Craft and Produce Market and shops in the Stable Courtyard is free of charge, and there is also free parking. The Stable Courtyard is open daily throughout the year from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
