Singing Farmers Back on Song

19th Jan 2009

Visitors to our Malton hotels will have the chance to see a group of arable vocalists when they perform in Ryedale.

The Singing Farmers are returning to the area and will appear at the Milton Rooms in Malton on Sunday 29th March 2009, after two previous sell-out performances. Concert organiser and group member Chris Berry, said: “The Milton Rooms in Malton is a fantastic venue. Each time we have played there we have packed them in.”

“We haven’t been to Malton with the show for three years and we are looking forward to coming back.”

The group of Singing Farmers are made up of sheep farmers Charles Marwood and Tony Richards, cattle farmer Ken Jackson, farm supply shop owner Phillip Holden, rural music teacher Lloyd Lockwood and rural journalist Chris Berry. The singing Farmers set of songs range from easy listening to 1970s music and Geordie folk music to songs from the shows.

The group say they are delighted to be back performing in Malton and their concert takes place at 2.30pm on Sunday 29 March 2009.
